Patrick Wyffels is a Multi Board Certified Surgeon located in Peoria, IL. His practice is located at the Proctor Professional Building with the majority of surgery performed at Methodist Medical Center and has served patients throughout the surrounding region. Dr. Wyffels has been practicing medicine in the specialties of General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery as well as providing demanding and complex "Intensive Care Unit patient care" as a Surgical Critical Care Specialist for over twenty five years. His surgical care includes non cancer and cancer surgery with emphasis on complete patient care and support. He has provided untiring inpatient & outpatient diagnostic evaluation and care of peripheral arterial disease ( PAD ) or peripheral vascular disease ( PVD ) with and without atherosclerosis in the prevention of amputations and improving the quality of life. He has an extensive experience in carotid artery surgery for stroke prevention and the management of abdominal aortic aneurysm including aneurysms of the iliac, femoral, popliteal, renal and carotid arteries. Other blood vessel disease treatment includes varicose vein and venous stasis ulcers. Neurological management includes neuropathy, restless leg syndrome and vasospastic diseases including Raynaud's disease. Treatment & care include emergency, acute and chronic surgical diseases including demanding diabetic ulcers ( leg ulcers, foot and ankle ulcers ), non healing wounds, chronic wound care, infected wound care and large, complex hernias as well as gallbladder, stomach, intestinal, liver, pancreas, thyroid, parathyroid and lung surgery. Hemodialysis surgery and hemodialysis fistula management continue to be just one of his areas of expertise. He has received recognition and has been highly praised for being a very talented, compassionate, and humble physician who treats each of his patients with the utmost respect and individualized quality of care. He is a member of societies for vascular surgery, general surgery, critical care and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr Wyffels has been recognized by the Consumer's Research Council of America as one of America's Top Surgeons 2002 thru 2010.
